Description
1968 Gibson J-45 Acoustic Guitar w/case.
A vintage 1968 Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar came through the shop a few years ago. I’m always a vintage Gibson guitar buyer but I especially love the acoustic guitars made from the 1930s through the 1960s. Gibson introduced the J-45 in the summer of 1942 as the newest version in its Jumbo line preceded by the Jumbo-35. In Gibson nomenclature, “Jumbo” refers to a 16″ wide lower bout while the 17″ lower bout is known as the Super Jumbo. The J-45 featured a Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides a 24 3/4″ scale length.
This Gibson J-45 manufactured in 1968 has survived in very nice original condition with all original parts. It’s plays and sounds great up and down the neck. It’s in excellent playing condition and has that typical woody mid-range and low-end Gibson thump. We set it up for optimum tone and playability. It’s now ready for the stage, studio, or collection.
